Chelsea Wrightson, Registered Psychologist
- Provides general therapy
Chelsea (she/her) values collaboration, authenticity, humour, and adventure, all of which she brings to her work. Her therapy philosophy is guided by the belief that, with the right support, people can connect with their authentic selves and learn to befriend their nervous systems. She believes in the value of exploring how our pasts influence us in the present and how we want to move forward. To support clients to meet these goals, she draws on Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), parts work, and other modalities. Chelsea has worked in both the private and non-profit sectors supporting people who have goals related to, amongst other things, trauma, anxiety, relationships, and workplace issues. She has extensive experience working with first responders. Chelsea is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and is a member in good standing with the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta. Chelsea subscribes to the idea that “variety is the spice of life” and has (too) many hobbies, including reading, playing guitar, climbing, hiking, yoga, and travelling. She is a self-described “life-long nerd” who is always looking to learn something new. Her world revolves around her dog, Penny.

What are the benefits of combining medicine with rTMS?
Combining medicine assisted therapy with repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) shows significant potential to improve therapeutic outcomes. Early studies suggest that these two treatment options are complementary and synergistic, enhancing efficacy by targeting different mechanisms in the brain.
Key benefits of this combination include:
- Enhanced Efficacy: The rapid effects of medicine complement the longer-term benefits of rTMS.
- Synergistic Effects: medicine may prime the brain for a better response to rTMS, enhancing neuroplasticity and promoting lasting changes.
- Comprehensive Approach: Addressing both chemical and neural pathways can lead to more holistic treatment outcomes.
